[Ring ring, telephone. Yuya really hopes Yugo is still awake at this hour and, more importantly, actually going to answer his radio.]

Yugo? Yugoooo. Hey, pick up.

[He sounds tired.]

[A handmade card is taped to the door of Yugo’s cabin. It’s covered in glitter and reads:

[One day during the winter vacation, Yugo will find a book has been delivered to his cabin, along with a note scrawled on a torn piece of notebook paper:]

Yugo,

I bought too many books. This one looks about your level, so I'm giving it to you.

[The book is titled Thermodynamics for Dummies, and as one would expect, it explains the laws and concepts of thermodynamics in a way that's accessible to laymen and older children, with helpful illustrations and examples.]

[Of course, the title alone might make one wonder... is this a gesture of goodwill? An insult? Both, somehow? At the very least, it looks like Rita thought of Yugo while she was gift-shopping, so maybe that counts for something... maybe.]

Yugo. Oi, Yugo. Come down ta the carnival again! I'm puttin' somethin' together, and I could use another couple hands.

[On B18, they will find a fancy looking gift box in his trailer with a note left on top. The handwriting is done in an over the top cursive that he might recognize as the Ringmaster's, written on aged papyrus with the ink seemingly made of shining gold.]

[Her signature is so massive and florid that it fills up the rest of the paper. When they open the box, they'll find a tiny pocket motorbike. Importantly, though, it is capable of hovering a distance above the ground - and even more importantly, it is capable of being stashed in one's pocket, like some kind of absurd slight of hand trick. When it is deposited on the ground it will be a rideable size, but in the pocket, it will be toy sized.]

[Waiting for Yugo in a small pouch are a good handful of gingerbread stars, plus a joker playing card hidden in them. There's something written on it.]

I tried to do those bikes you like so much, but they didn't turn out right. Sorry!

[ Connie delivers a wrapped copy of "Clarrisa Clark's Clockwork Contraption", a humor novel with the description "Clarissa Clark takes you on a tour of her shop, which turns out to be quite an adventure. "

[Now that everything's a little more stable, and they're back at the carnival, Yuya swings by to check on Yugo a little more personally. He saw him at the healing temple, of course, with everyone else. But it doesn't hurt to make doubly sure he's recovering.

So when Yuya's visiting the medical tent, he makes a pointed visit to where Yugo's laid up, leaning over to see how conscious he is.] Yugo?
